Annual Santa's Workshop!
Hey everyone! Every year we have our Annual Santa's Workshop where youth ages 0-18 years old can come, wrap, and sign presents for their family and friends and this year is no exception! There will be crafts and treats for presents, a wrapping station to make everything pretty, and a card station to make sure that your loved ones know who the awesome presents are from! Santa's Workshop will run from December 16-December 20 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. This event is free, open to the public, and sure to be a great time!
P.S. Don't forget about Santa's Storytime Visit! The big man himself is coming for some holiday cheer on December 18 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. to read some stories, take some pictures, and spend some Christmas love!

Dragon Thanksgiving Feast!
A Dragon Thanksgiving?? That’s right! This year the Tifton-Tift County Public Library is showing our gratitude to a great book, The Dragon Thanksgiving Feast by Loreen Leedy. Join us on November 25th from 4:00-5:30 p.m.! There will be crafts, food, family and friends! This event is for ages 0-18 years old, family-friendly, free, and will be a whole lot of fun! So dress up the family and we hope to see everyone there!
The Finished Product!
Hey Teen Zoners! May I be the first to introduce you to the new and improved Teen Room!!!! Scroll down for pictures and info.
Above the doorway of the New Teen Room is our very own Teens sign made of a rope light by Danielle O'Day. Let's walk into the Teen Room and see what's up.....
Here is a picture of the left wall where all of the Young Adult (YA) books are. The awesome cityscape was done by our very own Jesse Carpenter and is a mixture of real skylines from popular cities.
Here is the view from the left corner. You can see the books to the left and the beginning of the computer station on the right. Also, if you hadn't noticed, the furniture in the YA room has gotten a revamp. We used electricity cable spools coated in marine varnish for tables and swiped some chairs from the old room and some from storage to create this alley/grunge/city look. (Keep scrolling for info on the amazing mural!)
Here is the right side of the room (the side with the doors). We currently have only the two old computers from the old YA room but we are going to have four computers available to the teens at the end of this revamp. For right now, the empty space and extra chairs at the teen computers encourage laptop users to sit down and relax. Again, the cityscape was done by Jesse Carpenter.
Last but definitely not least is the mural. For those of you that can't read graffiti it says "READ More Books." This pretty much encompasses our goal at the library. This mural was drawn by Jesse Carpenter (I know, the guy's got talent, huh?)
Just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone involved in the Teen Room Makeover. Tina O'Day, Jesse Carpenter, and Edward Torres for the painting, Jesse Carpenter for the designs of the skylines and drawings, Paul Horst for varnishing the tables, Danielle O'Day for the rope light sign, and everyone else who contributed so much as a paint swipe on the walls.
We appreciate the support and the volunteering! Love you guys!
